About Us
In
1958 the company opened as Ajax Canvas Products, a storefront
operation on the south side of Chicago. The principal product
was canvas bags used for newspaper carriers throughout the
Midwest. As the company grew, it moved to factory space on
the north side of the city. There the product line was expanded
to covers for business machines, calculators, adding machines,
copiers and related business items. In 1969, the company became
Ajax Products and moved to its present location at 932 W.
Dakin St., just several blocks from historic Wrigley Field
Baseball Stadium.
Present
ownership acquired the company in 1976, renamed it, and redirected
the marketing focus towards providing custom-sewn components
or accessories for products made by other firms. Today, the
company produces items for "low-tech" products such
as auto jacks, trade show exhibits, canine training devices,
voting booths, air conditioners, drink blenders, etc., as
well as for "hi-tech" items like microcomputers,
blood analyzers, water purifiers, oximeters, fiber optic testers,
infuser pain pumps, etc. A continuously expanding marketing
program has resulted in steady growth for the company. Today
we have over 80 active clients. The facility has been remodeled,
equipment constantly updated, and new people hired to increase
production capacity.
